  1. Linking jEdit statically or dynamically with other modules is making a
  2. combined work based on jEdit. Thus, the terms and conditions of the GNU
  3. General Public License cover the whole combination.
  4. As a special exception, the copyright holders of jEdit give you
  5. permission to link jEdit with independent modules that communicate with
  6. jEdit solely through the plugin interface, regardless of the license
  7. terms of these independent modules, and to copy and distribute the
  8. resulting combined work under terms of your choice, provided that
  9. every copy of the combined work is accompanied by a complete copy of
  10. the source code of jEdit (the version of jEdit used to produce the
  11. combined work), being distributed under the terms of the GNU General
  12. Public License plus this exception. An independent module is a module
  13. which is not derived from or based on jEdit.
  14. Note that people who make modified versions of jEdit are not obligated
  15. to grant this special exception for their modified versions; it is
  16. their choice whether to do so. The GNU General Public License gives
  17. permission to release a modified version without this exception; this
  18. exception also makes it possible to release a modified version which
  19. carries forward this exception.
