  42. I work for the computer science department at the University of
  43. Helsinki, Finland. We've been trying to define an API that would allow
  44. web site developers to run simple servers in their web pages. The
  45. motivation behind the research is establishing some ground for
  46. browser-to-browser networking, enabling web sites to co-operate with
  47. end-user systems in new ways.
  48. Today, we are publishing our API draft and working prototype at
  49. <A HREF="http://browsersocket.org/">http://browsersocket.org/</A> We are hoping our work will be useful for
  50. people designing related web standards. We look forward to discussing
  51. related topics on the mailing lists.
