  31. .Sh NAME
  32. .Nm wlan_ccmp
  33. .Nd AES-CCMP crypto support for 802.11 devices
  34. .Sh SYNOPSIS
  35. .Cd "device wlan_ccmp"
  36. .Sh DESCRIPTION
  37. The
  38. .Nm
  39. module handles the AES-CCMP cryptographic requirements of the
  40. WPA and 802.11i protocols.
  41. It does encapsulation and decapsulation of CCMP-encoded 802.11 frames
  42. and optionally calculates the AES-CCMP cipher.
  43. The
  44. .Nm
  45. module is an 802.11 cryptographic plugin module for use by the
  46. .Xr wlan 4
  47. module.
  48. This module is automatically loaded if an AES-CCMP key is configured;
  49. typically by a WPA supplicant program such as wpa_supplicant,
  50. or a WPA authenticator program such as
  51. .Nm hostapd .
  52. Should the underlying network device not be capable of doing the AES-CCMP
  53. calculations in hardware, the
  54. .Nm
  55. module will do the work.
  56. .Sh SEE ALSO
  57. .Xr wlan 4 ,
  58. .Xr wlan_tkip 4 ,
  59. .Xr wlan_wep 4
  60. .Sh STANDARDS
  61. More information can be found in the IEEE 802.11, WPA, and 802.11i Standards.
  62. .Sh HISTORY
  63. The
  64. .Nm
  65. driver first appeared in
  66. .Fx 6.0 .
